What makes a good home? Can all vertebrates have the same home?

The Taiga forest with plenty of tree bark, ferns, and slender roots is a good home for me. Summers are cool and winters are very cold to support the vegetation I adore. What makes a good home for the lost vertebrates you are trying to help?
Tropical: the region of the world located just north and south of the equator where the climate is usually warm with a lot of precipitation.
