The Task

Through a number of activities, you will:

• Explore these two immigrant's lives

• Discover what type of work they did...

• ...what types of tools they used...

• ...and what type of life they led.

• You will be able to name the tools of the immigrant from 1820, as well as the tools from the immigrant living in 1850.

• Along the way you will compare and contrast the lives of these two immigrants.

As a final project you will choose to have the life of one of these immigrants.

• You will write an essay that states which immigrant's life you would prefer (English immigrant in 1820 or Irish Immigrant in 1850) and give reasons to support your choice.
