To Be Heard or Not To Be Heard! |
||
Task Based on the assigned readings you and your partners will create either a pamphlet in which you point out the reasons why ALL of the mill girls should join this association or a pamphlet that reflects the mill owners’ perspectives of the demands of the mill workers. You must be very convincing in your arguments because it was necessary for the reform movement to be strong and to be able to be heard by the owners of the textile corporations and this would be more likely to happen if the number of operatives involved in the protest was large. As a mill owner you must be equally strong in your opposing point of view of the mill workers demands for better wages and conditions.
*A suggestion: Your group could divide the readings and then come together and brainstorm ideas for your pamphlet. |
