I Do, Or Do I????

Do we decide things for ourselves or do others decide for us? In this lesson, we are going to take a look to see if and how outside forces influence our decision-making. We are going to examine how the events leading up to the American Revolution were influenced by the use of propaganda. We are also going to examine current society to see if propaganda plays a role in our lives. Boston Tea Party
According to the dictionary, Meriam-Webster Online, the term propaganda is defined as the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause or a person. Propaganda is not a new technique it has been used since ancient times. We see it used in advertising, politics, religion and many other aspects of society.
After interpreting a number of propaganda techniques used at the time of the American Revolution and in modern times, you will create a visual interpretation of one type of propaganda technique. You will make a poster, a brochure, or a media commercial, which will be presented to the class for evaluation.
